Hi I just stumbled onto your videos, I am currently in nursing school hoping to go into pediatric oncology so this is so awesome to see you doing that post grad!!!

Nursing student but when doing clinicals and lecture, I make sure to keep Clorox wipes or wet ones to sanitize my surface & hands, snacks, tea bags/instant coffee, and a compact brush and mirror. All types of chargers on deck, nail care stuff, and tweezers too! I pretty much have almost everything you mentioned in your bag too (including the floss) 😭😭 over prepared a bit but everything has been asked for by my cohort so it works ig lol

Feeling so defeated:(i studied hard all week, stayed up until 4 am. Woke up at 7 and worked until 4. Created a practice test with. Did it. Checked my answers. Went back and analyzed what i did wrong. All for Nclex :(i think that i was just so tired by the end of it all that i just wanted to be done. I'm hopeful that i can bounce back but right now I just feel like crying 😢 😭💔💔🤕😓😔💔💔😓

Yes, I am the same way. I can’t eat early in the morning. Day shift is way better than working Noc shift. I used to do that when I was a CNA. Trader Joe salad or No? They have the best salads. Trader Joe’s also has everything but the bagel cheese crackers (real cream cheese) and omg …what a mind trip eating them. Get the Keurig mini. Can’t have coffee problems in the morning…no no no. I will never get rid of my pink keurig that I bought in the pandemic lol.

Bills and paperworks accumulate so fast, ugh!! Signing up for paperless billing really helps a lot but somehow I still get tons of envelopes in the mail. I try to only keep the ones for the current year and then burn previous years documents. And I dunno exactly why but I have to keep 1-2 of each type of bill for each year so I have a physical proof that I have paid those bills. Yk, just in case I ever need to prove it to anybody. 😅

Listening to you talk about your experience and mindset in pediatric oncology and I have to pause the video for a minute and say- as a mom of an 18-year-old son with lymphoma who’s been inpatient for 60+ days now: it’s nurses who truly have a heart for it like you do who make our day. ♥️

Great idea of the emergency kit. There are nghts when sleep doesn't come easily or for long. Totally with you about the rough day survival.

I always have, what I call, a "bathroom bag" in my work bag. I believe EVERY WOMAN needs to have one. It has femine higene, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair elastics, tweezers, bio oil, comb, hair spray, and more. You just never know. I do keep an emergency bag in my car, though, if I ever need a change of clothes.

My preparedness item: I always have a small stash of flossing sticks with me. 😊

I have been up to DCH twice in my life. When my step son had an allergic reaction to chlorine in a hot tub and when my niece had leukemia (that was years ago, she is in her 30s now and cancer free.) I don't know how you all do it. It takes special people to be able to work with children who are so sick. You are amazing, never forget that when you have had a tough day.

my favorite emergency item is my loops ear plugs lol. I get overstimulated easily and the ear plugs help!

Where I live the weather changes so often that you can need both depending on the day and it SUCKS when you're caught without them like I was the other day when it started pouring rain after being sunny all day and I had to cab home because it was too rainy to take the bus...
